We have been nominated on by UK TV Food to receive a Local Food Hero award. As one of just three suppliers in our area, UK TV Food are looking for your comments about our produce, service etc.

Here is the criteria that UK TV Food used to select us:
LOCAL
We’re looking for:
- Supporters of the community; who champion food with a strong connection to the local area. For example, this could be by employing staff who live nearby; providing training tie-ups with colleges; celebrating regional culinary traditions; local sourcing of ingredients, and/or offering a key service to local residents.
- Businesses that best reflect the strengths and diversity of each of the ten British regions.
FOOD
We’re looking for:
- Great taste and quality
- Top-notch produce
- Super customer service
- An awareness of seasonality, animal welfare and ethical issues
- Respect for the land and the people who farm it.
Heroes might include such richly varied businesses as, for example, the local coffee shop selling delicious home-made cakes and scones; the fishmonger who nets the catch of the day and sells fresh fish locally; a deli offering a range of local produce; and the butchers selling meat from locally reared animals.

We’re looking for:
Commitment
Our heroes should demonstrate sound business practice, confront the challenges they face with tenacity, and treat their valued customers with respect. These will be people who have a story to tell and can communicate their passion to others. They deliver above and beyond expectation and their trade is more than a job
